Installation Note 36089: In SAS® 9.2, the "SAS/SECURE Java Component" selection cannot be deselected if it is part of the SAS® installation order
The SAS/SECURE Java Component is automatically installed if it is part of your order. This happens if you have a Planned Order type or a Basic Order type.
You do not have the option to deselect the SAS/SECURE Java Component at any time during the installation.
While the installation is in progress, you see SAS/SECURE Java Component under Stage 2: Installation.
This was done to ensure that the SAS/SECURE Java Component is installed when it is available in an order.
The SAS/SECURE Java Component installation always occurs after the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) installation.
If the JRE is already installed, you do not see the JRE as a product to be installed under the Stage 2: Installation.
If the SAS/SECURE Java Component is already installed, the installation runs again but installs only the .jar files that need to be updated.
